Why Rebuild?
Not all turbocharger failures require a full replacement, in fact more often than not you can save a substantial amount of money by choosing to have a turbo rebuilt instead of replaced.
Our turbocharger repair services ensures the turbo will be fully operational back to OE quality or higher. As standard practice, all the serviceable running components will be replaced such as rings, journal bearings and thrust assemblies. We blast and often polish (where applicable) the reclaimable parts to bring the aesthetic of the turbocharger back to brand new meaning it will look and perform its best.
With a fully equipped machine shop, we often repair components to avoid replacing parts unnecessarily; this in turn saves money on your rebuild cost and avoids unnecessary material wastage.

Our Rebuild Procedure

Once the Turbocharger is off the vehicle and boxed securely, we can either arrange collection, or take delivery of the turbo.
When the turbo arrives with us we then strip and inspect it and contact you with a quote to either repair or replace the unit. We have two options for our inspection process, a simple (free) quotation for the turbocharger or a full in-depth report, carried out by our expert technicians to help you diagnose the cause of any failures and a detailed analysis of each individual component (+£45+VAT).

With your permission we will fully service and rebuild the turbocharger; this procedure includes full cleaning and blasting* (where applicable) of the components, replacement of seals and bearings, reassembly and balancing of the individual components as well as the CHRA, along with flow calibration and quality control. Upgrades are also available on a range of turbochargers through our motorsport division at Owen Developments.

The turbo unit is now ready for dispatch, once payment is received the turbocharger is dispatched on a next working day* delivery service through UPS. Collection is also available, or in house delivery around our local area.
